After the meeting of the Secretary of the Eastern Region with the Chairman and members of the Committee of hospitality and Entertainment of Asharqia Chamber
The formation of a joint team to discuss and overcome difficulties for the Hospitality and Entertainment Sector
His Excellency the Secretary of the Eastern Region Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir had a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of Asharqia Chamber and the Chairman of the Hospitality and Entertainment Committee Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Boali and a number of the Committee members at the headquarters of the Secretariat in Dammam.
The meeting came out with the recommendation to form a joint working team to discuss and overcome difficulties for the hospitality and entertainment sector.
His Excellency the Secretary of the Eastern Region Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation and partnerships with the business sector in order to improve services that are positively reflected on the local community.
Al-Jubair said that the Secretariat of the region is keen to win the specific partnerships for the development of the work mechanism so that the sector can develop its tools and the beneficiary can access the services that will be distinguished as a result of this cooperation.
Al-Jubair pointed out that the meeting reviewed several important points which coincide with the functions of the Secretariat and the Committee on Hospitality and Entertainment.
For his part, Al-Boali thanked the Secretary of the region, and expressed optimism about the positive impact of the meeting, which came up with a number of important recommendations for the sector.
He considered this as a strong supporter of him and a catalyst to continue work and raise the level of performance.
He praised His Excellency's support for the initiatives and activities of the Committee.
Al-Boali said that the Committee, through its mission, supports and serves the hospitality and entertainment sector that to ensure sustainability and growth among the pioneers of the sector, which aims to develop and pursue the common interests of the economic establishments operating in the hospitality and entertainment sector in the region, and to achieve greater coherence and cooperation among workers in the private sector in the region, in addition to exchanging experiences between specialists and interested parties, and spreading awareness and culture through holding workshops and specialized lectures.
The size of the hospitality and leisure market in the restaurant sector is 79 billion riyals, while the size of the hotel sector 31 billion riyals, and in the entertainment sector is 17 billion riyals, which is important for the sector in terms of job creation.
It is the second largest sector in the field of Saudization and has the advantage of providing training services and contributing to the revival of local content, as 32 percent of the sector is spent on local content.
